Poudel to undergo tests
POKHARA: Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel would undergo physiotherapy on Tuesday, the officiating chief of the Western Regional Hospital, Yamuna Subal, said on Monday. Poudel has been suffering from backache, urinal and chest ailments, and toothache. He was admitted to the hospital on Sunday evening. — HNS
Police free three detainees
Pokhara: Police on Monday released the district president of Pro-public Good Governance, Kaski, Thakur Prasad Baral. President of the Pokhara chapter of Transparency International Nepal, Anandraj Mulmi, and Bhupnidhi Pant, a journalist, were also released on Monday. They were summoned to the DAO, Kaski, on Sunday. — HNS
25 houses gutted in Siraha
LAHAN: At least 25 houses were gutted at Mulbari of Phoolbariya VDC in Siraha district on Sunday evening after fire spread from the house of Dambar Bahadur Pulami, police said. The Nepal Red Cross Society, Siraha, said, property worth Rs 1.32 m was damaged by the fire. — HNS
Rights body flays killing
KATHMANDU: The Centre for Human Rights and Democratic Studies has condemned the killing of Khagendra Shrestha, editor of Dharan Today. Shrestha died on March 31, while undergoing treatment in Siliguri after a group of unidentified people shot at him at his office in Chhatachowk, Dharan, on March 15. — HNS
