KATHMANDU: Grace Hospital, which was constructed by Grace Group in association with the Christian community in the country, came into operation from today. The health facility has been constructed in the densely populated area of Chuchchepati, Chabahil, in the capital. Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal inaugurated the newly constructed building of the hospital amid a function held on the hospital premises today. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, PM Nepal appealed to the hospital authorities to put the needy on high priority while extending medical services. 'You have done a good job; but the poor and needy shouldn't be deprived of medical care merely because they couldn't afford to the cost. All what you have to do is help the people who are dying of inadequate treatment due to lack of money,' the PM said. He also urged them to provide home service and organise mobile health camps so that the elderly and helpless patients would not need to travel long distance seeking treatment. 'We expect that the hospital will be able to provide basic medical service for affordable cost,' he added. Ram Sharan Bhandari, chairperson of the hospital, assured of helping the patients regardless of their social background and appealed to all to cooperate with them to ensure better service.
