KATHMANDU, APRIL 29
Nepal's beach wrestling campaign at the 6th Asian Beach Games 2026 ended in the knockout rounds, with all three athletes exiting early despite gaining valuable international exposure.
Sushila Chand, competing in the women's 70kg category, lost both her bouts to India's Jaspreet Kaur. In the men's 90kg+ category, Triloki Prasad Yadav was defeated in all three matches against opponents from Mongolia, Pakistan and Bahrain.
Suresh Chunara (80kg) secured one win, defeating Cambodia's Roththa Heng 3-1, but lost two closely contested matches by the same margin against wrestlers from Vietnam and Pakistan.
Despite the early exits, officials said the participation would help develop beach wrestling in Nepal and better prepare athletes for upcoming South Asian and international competitions.
