PARSA: Vegetable prices are expected to go up as farmers in parts of Parsa and other districts are opting for farming hashish instead of vegetables. The yield of vegetables is expected to decrease as hashish farming is being done in fertile land. Farmers said they began hashish farming as there was more profit in it than in vegetables. Hashish farms now occupy 60 per cent of the 15,000 hectares of arable land in the district and is flourishing due to protection of the police and political parties.
