DHADING: The locals of Madevsthan VDC have been hit hard as there is no medicine in the local sub-health post. There is shortage of medicines in most of the government health facilities elsewhere in the district. Although the government talks of free health service to the people, the people of the district are not getting proper treatment due to lack of both health staffers and medicine. Lekhnath Subedi, VDC secretary, Mahadevsthan VDC said that the sub-health post could not purchase medicine as it had no internal source of funds. Most of the residents in the VDC belong to Chepang, Tamang and other underprivileged community, he added. The locals lamented that even minor health treatment was not available in the village. Furthermore, they cannot afford to pay at the private health facilities too. Meanwhile, AHW Nagendra Prasad Shah said that the problem worsened as passage of this year's budget was delayed.
