PARASI: Senior leader of Unified CPN-Maoist Dr Baburam Bhattarai today said that the Kailali incident was a deliberate action of the government. Speaking at a programme organised by Nepal National Industry Business Organisation Nawalparasi, he said the people could not expect peace and security from the present coalition government. He also compared the action of the present government like that of infamous autocrat Hitler as it was shooting innocent squatters dead. According to him, the landless farmers were spontaneously capturing the lands belonging to feudal lords and others though it was not the party policy. “We can expect nothing from this government as it has been incompetent even to take action against rapist policemen and its minister for slapping senior government employee,” he charged. He alleged that the “unconstitutional” government was preparing for war by importing weapons. “By looking at the deeds of the government, we can say that it's gradually turning the country into war-torn Afghanistan,” he said. He also claimed that the parties in the government were not serious enough to the epoch-making task of drafting the new constitution but were trying to dissolve the CA. "This can be justified as the UML and NC were unable to submit proposals to the CA committee on state structure and other issues," he said. Advocating civilian supremacy, he alleged that preparations to impose military rule were underway with the help of President.
