DANG: Cadres of Youth Force and YCL — the youth wing of CPN-UML and UCPN-Maoist, respectively — clashed at the venue of the undergoing sixth district conference of the UML here in the district this evening. More than 10 persons from both sides have been injured in the melee. The injured have been identified as conference organising committee coordinator Lok Bahadur Dangi, committee member Udaya Bahadur Bohara, Democratic National Youth Organisation central member Gobinda Pun and Youth Force district coordinator Uttam Gharti. Dipak BK, Karna Bahadur Budha and Nabin Bhandel are among the injured on the YCL side. Seriously injured Bohara and Pun have been taken to Nepalgunj for treatment. The clash occurred when the closed session of the conference was in progress in Salyan Multiple Campus, Luhaping. The YCL cadres were returning to Shitalpati after gheraoing a government office. Each group has held the other responsible for the incident. After the clash, leaders of the UCPN-Maoist and UML, at the initiation of the local administration, had tried to solve the problem. But the fury of the clashing outfits left Luhaping area tense. Additional security personnel have been deployed to prevent any untoward incidents and take the situation under control.
