PALPA: A policeman, who was in head over heels in love with a woman, is now fighting for his life at a hospital bed. The reason: he attempted a suicide after his girl friend, with whom he was considering tying the knot, decided to marry another man. Not only the policeman Lokendra Dasaundi, but also his girl friend Gita Bhandary is in hospital bed fighting for life. Dasaundi, who was deputed at Gulmi's Dhurkot Police Post, had opened fire at Gita on Saturday evening and tried to kill himself knowing that his beloved was going away. Gita, 22, is a student of local Dhurkot Multiple Campus. Lokendra, who has been admitted in Tansen's United Mission Hospital, said, "Our relation was turning sour after I found that she was planning to marry another man." According to him, he tried to commit suicide having known that his girl friend and the man were conspiring to kill him. Gita, who received a bullet injury, is undergoing treatment in District Hospital Tamghas. Lokendra, however, maintained that Gita sustained bullet injury as she tried stop me committing suicide. Doctors involved in the treatment said that both of them were recuperating.
