The new edition of EcoSport is a blend of powerful stance, iconic body and innovative features

After the success of Ford EcoSport launched in July 2013, selling more than 2500 units, GO Automobiles, the authorised distributors of Ford in Nepal, has introduced The EcoSport Platinum Edition. According to the company, the compact SUV is now available for booking. The new edition of EcoSport is a blend of powerful stance, iconic body and innovative features. Ford EcoSport Platinum Edition introduces several upgrades that accentuate EcoSport’s bold design and enhances the driving dynamics of its preceding models.

“Since, Platinum Series is a limited edition, we will be getting only 15 units of this model,” revealed Sunil Chettri, General Manager at GO Automobiles, adding that its major competitors are Hyundai Creta, Maruti Brezza and Renault Duster. According to Chettri, the vehicle is priced at Rs 51.90 lakhs onwards for the TDCi 1.5L diesel engine powertrain. “It is the perfect ride for tech savvy customers, who want sharper technology and more technical features in a compact SUV,” said Chettri.

This limited edition flaunts an aggressive and sophisticated dual tone exterior design. The dual-tone body colour finish gives it a sportier look. It features an impressive black roof, bigger 17-inch wheels, wider tyres with brand new alloys wrapped in wider rubber. Also there are a few tweaks on the front and rear bumpers.

Under its hood, the 1.5-litre TDCi diesel mill churns out 100PS of power and 205Nm of torque; it is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Furthermore, it introduces cruise control system that allows drivers to set a fixed speed at which the vehicle automatically cruises. This allows the driver to avoid the stress of keeping the accelerator pressed during long drives.

Inside it gets 8-inch touch screen system. This touchscreen infotainment system sits on the top of the dashboard in place of the small-screen on the standard variants. It supports mp3 music, video playback and satellite navigation as well. The system is paired to a rear view camera that gets activated once you put the car in the reverse gear. It also gets guidelines to assist you to park the car. Furthermore, Ford has equipped the Platinum Edition with six airbags, ensuring safety at its best.
