OPEC to cut output

Inflation to dip in EU

BRUSSELS: Eurozone statistics to be released this week are expected to show an easing in inflationary pressure, perhaps to a greater extent than preliminary estimates signalled. Industrial output in the 12-nation eurozone is also likely to show a rebound in August. Final inflation figures for September are expected to confirm that the harmonised index of consumer prices in annual terms fell to 1.8 per cent from August’s 2.3 per cent due to lower

CAN has a new team

KATHMANDU: The 13th annual general meeting of Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) concluded here the other day, re-electing Biplav Man Singh as its president for the next term. The new executive committee of CAN for the next two years comprises of C N Upadhaya, Ram Sharan Pandey and Navaraj Kunwar as its first, second and third vice-presidents, Rajan Raj Panta as general secretary, while Hemant Chaurasiya as treasurer and Binod Dhakal as secretary. The executive members are Amrit Thapa, Pankaj Jalan, Kishore Panth, Amit Agrawal, R C Khanal, Suresh Kumar Karna, Amrit Pant and Arjun Ghimire. — HNS

NEA mobile counter

BHAKTAPUR: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Bhaktapur branch supply centre has installed mobile counters in the rural areas of the district in order to collect electricity tariffs effectively and to provide doorstep service to the villagers, Rameshwor Prasad Katwal, chief of NEA Bhaktapur branch said. The process of collecting electricity charges has been started after
