Kathmandu, July 28:
Machinery and Electrical Complex (MEC) and EPCOS (Siemens) Company jointly held a seminar here today on electric parts and components (EPCOS). According to a press statement, EPCOS is taking a new approach to power factor correction (PFC) that helps not only to satisfy basic demands for stable energy supply and power quality but also to save energy costs and reduce capital expenditure at the same time. It has been also been mentioned that EPCOS products help enhance power quality, life of appliances, reduce heating of cables and wires, reduce power consumption and improve voltage profile. The role of power capacitor is crucial in making reactive power management effective. PFC has been used in applications such as industry and energy supply buildings to improve the quality of electric power and make them more efficient.
