Air Deccan introduces Rs 1 tickets

Bangalore, June 8:

Air Deccan, India’s low-cost no-frills carrier, today introduced its much-promised Rs 1 Indian Currency (IC) tickets on trunk routes operated with Airbus aircraft.

According to a company statement, the lowest denomination tickets, with an additional payment of Rs 221 IC towards airport taxes, received a huge response across the country. “We are offering about 1,800 tickets on the Airbus sector. Though the scheme is open till July 31, the offer may close much earlier going by the tremendous response within hours of introducing it through our web-enabled reservation system,” the company said. The airliner operates five 180-seat A-320 Airbus daily on metro routes.
