KATHMANDU: The American Chamber of Commerce Nepal (AmCham) has held its first annual general meeting (AGM) here.

Led by Chairman of AmCham Nepal, Ajit Shah, the meeting was attended by its members including the Board of Directors, Nirmal Kajee Shrestha from MetLife, Akash Golchha from GO Automobiles, Asheem Man Singh Basnyat from Pathao Nepal, Atulya Risal from Ambarkaar Software, Jayadin Shrestha from ICTC Holdings, Kailash Bijayananda from Leapfrog Technology and Semanta Dahal from Abhinawa Law Chambers.

Addressing the gathering, Chairman Shah said, "Our unique strength comes from the collaboration of our strong member companies, our regional network of the Amcham Chapters, our association to the US Chamber of Commerce and the US Embassy in Nepal."

He added, "Based on the data we received from a survey conducted between our members, we were able to identify three key categories - financial committee, policy and advocacy committee and the networking committee - where we have been able to make good progress during the year."

The development on each of these categories were presented during the meeting by the respective committee members which was endorsed by the board along with the annual review and financial statement. The chairman and the board members were re-elected for another term of office until the next AGM. - HNS
