The American Chamber of Commerce in Nepal (AmCham Nepal) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Nepal's economic transformation through enhanced Nepal–US commercial engagement during a meeting with the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shishir Khanal.

During the meeting, AmCham Nepal positioned itself as a strategic partner to the government, highlighting the role of American businesses in promoting investment, innovation and sustainable economic growth. Discussions focused on strengthening economic diplomacy and creating a more conducive environment for bilateral trade and investment.

Minister Khanal also encouraged the chamber to develop a comprehensive framework identifying key challenges, opportunities and actionable milestones to advance Nepal–US economic cooperation. He also expressed interest in holding a follow-up meeting after his upcoming visit to the United States.

Job creation featured prominently in the discussions, with emphasis on the private sector's role in achieving the government's employment generation targets. AmCham Nepal reiterated its commitment to facilitating investment and supporting initiatives with meaningful economic impact.

The chamber also requested representation in relevant economic and policy platforms to ensure structured private sector participation in Nepal–US bilateral matters. The ministry, meanwhile, stressed its efforts to promote "Brand Nepal" globally as an emerging destination for investment and innovation.

Both sides underscored the need for a predictable policy environment, timely decision-making and a level playing field to boost investor confidence and attract foreign direct investment. They expressed optimism for a constructive partnership aligned with the government's reform agenda.
