Artha Ko Artha turns 14

Kathmandu, April 26:

Artha Ko Artha, Nepal’s first weekly business news programme in Nepal Television (NTV), has completed its 13 years of successful broadcasting.

Artha Ko Artha is the first of its kind only business and economic news programme to be aired through NTV every Sunday evening.

“Produced by Independent Business News Pvt Ltd (IBN), it has been on air regularly since 1994,” says Hridaya Gautam, managing director (MD) at IBN.

IBN has also been producing daily economic and business news bulletin for the Image Channel for the last two years.

Gautam further says that IBN would continue to focus on innovation and creativity in business journalism.

The company plans to produce development news and features based on rural economy and development in the near future. “IBN will utilise its capacity and experience for bringing voices from the rural areas, where many main stream media have not yet reached,” said Gautam, adding that the company’s experienced human resources and digital equipment will be an added advantage for reaching rural areas.

After the 1990 movement, economy that was neglected for decades, became a major issue for the newspapers and TVs.
