Auditors protest against ICAN decision

Kathmandu, January 21:

Auditors’ Association of Nepal (AUDAN) expressing disagreement with ICAN’s decision over putting work barriers for auditors protested here today.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN) is planning to ensure that auditors do only auditing and don’t take recourse to another job. After the implementation of ICAN’s decision, auditors registered with it will not be allowed to opt for two working areas at same time.

The Professional Registered Auditors’ Society of Nepal has, however, lent its support to the ICAN’s decision. “Nepal is the only country where one can get along with other work while also involved in auditing,” it said.
