Banking services to be halted at customs points only for two days in Dashain
Kathmandu, October 6
Branches of the banks providing services at different customs points would be allowed to close their counters only on October 10 and 11 for Dashain and only on November 1 for Tihar.
Issuing a circular today, Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has urged the banks to operate counters or branches at the customs points during remaining days for the purpose of revenue collection.
NRB has instructed the concerned banks as the Revenue Division under the Ministry of Finance had written to the central bank that the customs clearance of the goods will be continued during the festivals as well.
Banks have been urged to operate their counters to facilitate importers and exporters in clearing goods from customs, as the Department of Customs would be operating the customs offices, except for two days in Dashain and one day in Tihar.
