Panday on PATA board

KATHMANDU: Prabin B Panday, executive committee member of PATA Nepal Chapter, has been nominated as the ‘Industry Council Proxy’ to the PATA Board of Directors for one-year term. Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) founded in 1951 is a recognised authority on Asia Pacific travel and tourism. PATA provides leadership and advocacy to the collective efforts of nearly 100 government, state and city tourism bodies, more than 55 airlines and cruise lines and hundreds of travel industry companies. Panday has been involved with PATA Nepal Chapter since 1996 and has served the chapter as chairman from 2002 to 2006. — HNS

Premier Insurance in profit

KATHMANDU: Premier Insurance Company (Nepal) Ltd has earned a net profit of Rs 13 million during the fiscal year 2005-06. The company collected insurance premiums worth Rs 16.2 million during the period. This figures were released during the 13th annual general meeting of the company held today. Premier Insurance has been involved in general insurance business for last one and half decade and has branch offices in Birgunj, Biratnagar, Pokhara, Narayangarh and Butwal apart from central office at Tripureswar, Kathmandu. —HNS
