NCC team off to Doha

KATHMANDU: The delegation of NCC led by Rajesh Kaji Shrestha, president left for Doha on Monday to participate at ‘Promote Nepal 2005’. According to a press statement issued by NCC, the objective the fair is to boost trade, investment and tourism between Doha, Qatar and Nepal. NCC, Salt Trading Corporation and Nepal Pavilion Company are jointly organising the fair which is to start from June 14 to 18. — HNS

KATHMANDU: LG brand products are getting popular in Nepal, which is being marketed by Gold Star Nepal (Industries) Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Chaudhary Group. Vacuum cleaner is one of the popular products which is being market in four kinds, said the statement issued by the company. Satyam bags contract

MUMBAI: Satyam Computer Services Ltd, India’s fourth-largest software exporter, said the company has won a ‘multi-million dollar’ contract from a US-based polymer firm for providing technology solutions. Under the agreement, Satyam Computer will help INVISTA, a well-known name in polymers, intermediates and fibres business, run global application maintenance system operations for enterprise platforms. — HNS

TM’s Indian plan fails

KUALA LUMPUR: Telekom Malaysia (TM) Berhad said its proposed investment of about $390 million in Idea Cellular Ltd, India’s fifth-largest mobile phone operator, has lapsed after it failed to get Indian authorities’ approval. Telekom’s unit, TM International, together with Singapore Technologies Telemedia were planning to buy Idea’s 47.7 per cent stake.— AP
