Amin, Shrestha meet

KATHMANDU: Soheail Amin, the newly-appointed Pakistani ambassador to Nepal met FNCCI president Binod Bahadur Shrestha, yesterday at FNCCI secretariat and discussed about ways to promote bilateral trade, tourism, civil aviation, investment and other areas of economic interests. Shrestha hailed Pakistan’s decision on zero duty on tea import from Nepal and expressed support for future ties. — HNS

MoU signed on NRN

KATHMANDU: Non-Resident Nepali - International Coordination Council at FNCCI and Society of Economic Journalists Nepal (SEJON) today signed a memorandum of understanding for news coverage of the second International NRN Conference, scheduled for October 7 to 9 in Kathmandu. Suraj Vaidya, third vice-president of FNCCI and Bijay Ghimire, president of SEJON signed the MoU on behalf of the respective organisations. — HNS

NFL’s rights shares

KATHMANDU: Securities Board of Nepal (SEBO) has approved the rights shares issuance proposal of National Finance Ltd (NFL). SEBO approved a total of 432,000 rights shares with

a face value of Rs 100 each to be issued to existing shareholders of the company. NIDC Capital Markets Ltd has been appointed as issuance and sales manager of the rights share

HDR workshop held

BIRATNAGAR: National Planning Commission and the United Nations Development Programme

(UNDP) jointly organised a workshop on Nepal Human Development Report 2004, empowerment and poverty alleviation. Policy makers at the regional and district level, development experts, people’s representatives and public were briefed on the current status of Nepal’s human development by the report.— RSS
