UTL slashes STD rates

Kathmandu: United Telecom Ltd (UTL) has slashed its STD rates. The new rates would be effective from May 17. Under the new provision there will be two categories for STD rates. ‘A’ category is set for less than 50 kms and ‘B’ category for distance above 50 kms. The revised rate for the ‘A’ category is Rs 2.50 per minute and Rs 5.0 for the ‘B’ category, states a press release issued here by UTL. — HNS

Association fixes price

RASUWA: Rasuwa Industry and Commerce Association has fixed the market prices of daily commodities to maintain uniformity in prices in the local market. The decision was made at a meeting presided over by chairman of the association, Kaisang Narpu. It is now mandatory to past price list at the shop. — RSS

FNCCI to hold AGM

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the FNCCI executive committee today decided to hold the 39th AGM of the federation within the next two months. On the occasion extensive discussions were held on the security situation and the state of business and industry in the districts. The meeting also called on the government, the security forces and the local administrations to help create business friendly environment. — RSS

Revenue collection up

BUTWAL: Bhairahawa Customs Office has collected Rs 2.77 billion revenue in the first nine months of the current fiscal year. The amount is higher by Rs 580 million in comparison to the same period last year. — RSS
