Commercial farming

DHADING: Commercial farming of vegetables is gaining momentum in Dhading as transporting vegetables has become easier. Dhading produces 63,882 metric tonnes of vegetables annually. Cabbage, cauliflower, radish and chilies are produced in large quantities in the district. — RSS

Hailstorm damages

SARLAHI: Hailstorm has damaged crops and fruits worth millions of rupees and has left hundreds of families homeless in Sarlahi. Over 200 houses in the district have been destroyed while the roofs of over a dozen schools have also been distorted. A representative of the office has been posted on duty to collect information about the data of damage caused to the crops by the hailstorm. — RSS

Committee formed

DAMAULI: A 29-member East-west Hulaki Rajmarga Construction Committee, has been constituted in Damauli. Raj Kumar Karmacharya is the convener of the new committee, which would initiate works to construct the East-west Hulaki Rajmarga as an alternate route to the Prithvi Highway. — RSS

Volkswagen eyes India

HYDERABAD: German automobile giant Volkswagen is planning to set up a full-fledged plant in Visakhapatnam. The modalities for the MoU is likely to be signed between the company and the state government by month-end. — HNS
