Nepal, China sign accord

KATHMANDU: Bhanu Prasad Acharya, secretary at the ministry of finance and Sun Heping, Chinese ambassador to Nepal, signed a delivery and acceptance certificate regarding mobile container and vehicle x-ray inspection system constructed under Chinese grant assistance. The mobile container and vehicle x-ray system has been installed at the dry port custom office in Sirsiya, Birgunj. — HNS

CNI urges workers’ unity

KATHMANDU: Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) through a press release issued on Friday has urged for unity among workers for their betterment. CNI has stated that the current condition has not only degraded the economy of the country but has also destroyed employment opportunities. Computer service at DoC

KATHMANDU: Krishna Hari Banskota, director general at the Department of Custom (DoC), inaugurated a computer service at the DoC office. The service has been introduced with to disseminate information related to custom office effectively. It can be accessed at www.customs.gov.np. — HNS

Goods confiscated

KATHMANDU: Revenue patrolling team of armed police force, Birgunj confiscated materials being brought to Nepal from India evading customs duty. The team submitted materials to customs office, Birgunj. Materials worth about Rs 150,000 were confiscated from Chapkaiya, Ranighat, Alau, Inarwa and other parts of the district. — RSS
