BoAN’s new schemes
KATHAMDNU: Bank of Asia Nepal (BoAN) has launched two new savings accounts on Monday targeting both its shareholders and the servicemen sector. “BoA Shareholders Savings Account’ is aimed at shareholders and their families while ‘BoA Servicemen Savings Account’ is targeted at public and private sector servicemen, said a press release. The bank will give seven per cent interest on shareholder accounts and 7.5 per cent interest on servicemen account. It has also launched Internet banking service, i-Touch. The Internet banking service will facilitate the account holders in transferring deposits, paying their mobile bills and recharging pre-paid mobiles. — HNS
KOICA prez here
KATHMANDU: Park Dae-won, president of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), is here on a visit from April 26 to 28. According to a press statement, Park will attend the inauguration ceremony of a new building of the Korea-Nepal Friendship Hospital at Thimi on April 28. KOICA has given $1.4 million for the construction of the hospital which will provide emergency services 24 hours a day. During his stay here, Park is also scheduled to visit the site of another KOICA project, the Government Integrated Data Center (GIDC) in Singha Durbar. This project is designed to contribute to laying the foundation for e-government in Nepal for better transparency, services for citizens, more efficient management and administrative cost reductions. Between 2007 and 2009, KOICA has provided $3.5 million to build the GIDA at Thimi. — HNS
