DDC profit rises by 58 pc
KATHMANDU: Dairy Development Corporation (DDC) has recorded a profit of Rs 14.1 million in the current fiscal year. Profits rose by 58 per cent compared to its profit of Rs 8.9 million during last fiscal year. Reduction in overhead expenses, proper management of resources and usage of modern technologies have all contributed to the rise in profit, states a press release issued by DDC. — HNS
GDBL completes 100 days
KATHMANDU: Gurkha Development Bank (Nepal) Ltd (GDBL) has completed 100 days of commercial operations, on Monday. Established with Rs 640 million authorised capital and Rs 320 million paid up capital, the bank started operation from December 5. During its 100 days of operation, the bank has collected Rs 134 million in deposits and made an investment worth Rs 170 million. The bank has announced the launch of GDB Super Saving on the occasion of its completion of 100 days. — HNS

Road to Ramechhap
RAMECHHAP: The construction of a one lane road from Ramechhap Bazaar to Seleghat via Betini has been completed recently. The 19-km long road is said to be the first road to link Ramechhap with neighbouring Okhaldhunga district. The construction was completed with an approximate budget of Rs 7.5 million, said Krishna Ram Shrestha, chairman of the road construction committee. — RSS
