Buddha Air clears dues
KATHMANDU: Buddha Air Pvt Ltd through a press release issued on Saturday has confirmed that Buddha Air has been paying all the service charges to the Civil Aviation Authority Nepal, including, landing, parking and navigation. Buddha Air has even kept a deposit of Rs 900,000, approximately, equalling to the service charge of one month advertisement release. — HNS
Electricity supply starts
BAGLUNG: People of the Dudilabhati VDC have now access to electricity, supplied from a micro-hydro project. The VDC has a peltric set and micro-hydro set of 75 KW capacity and 38 domestic solar panels installed. The Rural Energy Development branch Baglung has generated 18 KWs of electricity at a cost of Rs 2,708,000 from the Gaudikhola second. — RSS
Lack of consumer goods
JAJARKOT: People of Jajarkot district has been suffering due to inadequate consumer goods that were suppose to be made available under a fixed quota. There is a lack of salt, rice, kerosene and other daily commodities. Contractors have not been able to supply goods owing to the conflict. Only 610 quintals out of the 1,900 quintals of rice and 110 out of the 1,800 quintals of salt have been supplied in the last eight months. — RSS
Industrial fair begins
BUTWAL: National Industrial Fair-2005 began here on Friday with the slogan ‘Let’s promote domestic products, let’s make Nepal self-dependent.’ There are 225 stalls displaying different industrial and other products at the fair, held under the joint aegis of Butwal Industrial Area Industries Association and the Federation of Nepal Industrial Area Industries. — RSS
Guilty industries fined
KATHMANDU: A bazaar monitoring team, comprising of representatives from different bodies under the coordination of the Department of Commerce carried out an inspection of 199 industries and business foundations in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur. The team inspected various organisations for eight days that started from February 25. The monitoring team took action against 65 industries and business foundations that were found guilty. — RSS
Indian forex at $35.66b
MUMBAI: India’s foreign exchange reserves touched a new all-time high at $135.66 billion in the week that ended February 25 on large-scale overseas fund inflows, said the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Saturday. The country’s foreign currency assets registered an increase of $2.69 billion over the previous week to touch $129.84 billion, said the RBI statement. The bank said foreign currency assets - expressed in US dollar terms - include the effect of appreciation or depreciation of non-US currencies such as Euro, Sterling, and Yen held in the reserves.—HNS
