Gold price increases:

KATHMANDU: The price of gold closed at Rs 10,265 per 10 grams on Friday. The precious yellow metal was priced Rs 10,235 per 10 grams on the first day of the week which came down to Rs 10,225 on Monday and was transacted at Rs 10,280 on Wednesday. Likewise, the price of silver remained Rs 187 per 10 grams. — RSS

Rare herbs found:

NAWALPARASI: Some 186 varieties of herbs have been identified at the vicinity of Devchuli Mountain, in Nawalparasi. The herbs are in abundance in the jungle areas of Dhaubadi, Devchuli and Naramgaun VDCs. The herbs include the rare species like chiraito, pashanved and kamraj, said Yagya Prasad Ojha, a herbs expert. The locals have demanded government assistance for the proper conservation of the herbs. — RSS

Indian railways budget:

NEW DELHI: Indian Railways will raise Rs 34 billion IC through market borrowings to meet its development plans. The plan has been kept at Rs 153.49 billion IC including Rs 35.22 billion IC on safety related works through Special Railway Safety Fund. — HNS

More Indo-Pak bus service:

ISLAMABAD: Two more cross border bus services between Pakistan and India’s Jammu and Kashmir state are on the anvil. High-level back channel diplomacy between the two neighbours has resulted in modalities being worked out for a bus service between Sialkot in Punjab province and Jammu (India) and between Rawalkot in Pakistan-administered Kashmir and Poonch (India). — HNS
