MAN gets new committee:
KATHMANDU: The 24th national convention and AGM of Management Association of Nepal (MAN) recently elected the new committee. The committee has elected Dr Arzu Rana Deua the new president unanimously whereas Rajan Singh Bhandari was elected vice-president. Sudhir Babu Khatri, Bijaya Shrestha, Uttam Kumar Shrestha, Raghu Pant, Rajan Singh Bhandari and Mukunda Nath Dhungel were elected from institutional members. — HNS
Rotary organises training:
KATHMANDU: Rotary Club of Lalitpur with support from SeaGate Institute of Technology organised computer skill training. Buddhiraj Bajracharya, minister for culture, tourism and civil aviation, awarded certificates to the trainees at a function here on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, Bajracharya said that the training would enhance working style and bring efficiency in the work. Rotary Club of Lalitpur has provided financial support for the computer training. — HNS
Sugar factory shuts down:
NAWALPARASI: Lumbini Sugar Factory (LSF), Nawalparasi has been closed down since Saturday due to lack of necessary raw material — sugarcane. Though the mill has a capacity of crushing up to 1.2 million metric tonnes per year, it was closed only after crushing 0.256 metric tonne sugarcane this year. Established in the assistance of China, the sugar factory has only produced 20,400 quintals sugar this year. The factory has also posted a profit of Rs 80 million during this fiscal year. — RSS
BoF trims growth outlook:
PARIS: The French economy should clock up first quarter growth of 0.5 per cent, the Bank of France (BoF) said on Monday, trimming back its forecast from 0.6 per cent previously. Industrial activity has remained broadly stable after sustained growth in previous months. — AFP
