KATHMANDU: Provogue — a leading Indian apparel brand — opened its showroom Provogue Studio at City Centre in Kathmandu on Saturday. It is the first exclusive store of fashion and lifestyle outside India, a press statement read. Deputy managing director Sali Chaudhary hoped the new store would provide a thrilling and joyful shopping experience. According to the company, Provogue Studio will provide footware, accessories and an extensive collection of personal care products. — HNS

Far west trade fair

MAHENDRANAGAR: Preparations for the Far-Western Industrial Trade Fair and Kanchanpur Tourism Festival-2066 are in the final phase. The trade fair and tourism festival will be held for 10 days starting October 29, said Hem Bikran Thapa, chairperson of Kanchanpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), the organiser of the event. According to a KCCI official Prem Singh Bhatt, 82 stalls related to vehicles, agro-based products and tourism destinations have been already booked. The umbrella body of local businessmen expects transactions of Rs 40 million in the around 200 stalls. People from as far as Uttar Pradesh of India and Nepal’s Banke, Bardiya, Kailali and Dadeldhura districts will take part in the trade fair, said the organiser. — RSS

Potato seed rots

BAGLUNG: Potato seed worth lakhs of rupees has rotted for want of a cold storage centre. Farmers of Bhakunde in Baglung district had stored the seed in bamboo baskets, said Krishna Bahadur Thapa of Bhakunde VDC. “Due to lack of money, we could not set up a cold storage centre to stockpile potato.” Subidhapokhara, a neighbouring village, has a cold storage facility but transportation of potato from Bhakunde to the place is nearly impossible due to exorbitant transportation cost. — RSS
