Handicrafts fair

KATHMANDU: Federation of Handicraft Associations of Nepal (FHAN) — in cooperation with Asia Invest-Europe AID Co-operation Office, PlaNet Finance Nepal, SME Links Project — is organising the eighth Handicrafts Trade Fair to expose and enable

all concerned for forging business links and enhancing the export

market. The fair wil be held from

November 5 to 9 at Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition Hall here. There will

be more than 150 stalls in the exhibition, where pashmina, woollen items, silver jewellery, metalcraft products,

handmade paper, cotton/natural fiber products, woodcraft and stonecraft products, ceramics products, paubha (thanka) and leather products will be exhibited, said FHAN. There will also be a seminar on concurrent issues of handicraft trade and industries. — HNS

Kist in Mangalbazar

KATHMANDU: Kist Bank Ltd on Sunday started operations from its Mangalbazar branch office. According to a press statement, the bank has targeted to establish 50 branch offices within present fiscal year. It has 12 branch offices in Kathmandu Valley and 20 branch offices outside the valley. — HNS

Cooperative’s scheme

KATHMANDU: Shanti Bhumi Saving and Credit Cooperative Ltd started its service from Saturday at Makhan of Kathmandu. The cooperative has a paid-up capital of Rs 2 million and offers savings and fixed deposit schemes. It has three savings schemes — daily savings account, general savings account and Shanti Bhumi special savings account. It offers up to 15 per cent interest on fixed deposit for five years. Dhrubaraj Thapa and Shyam Ranjitkar are the advisors of the cooperative. — HNS
