NCCCI-CCPIT deal

KATHMANDU: Nepal-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCCI) and China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to boost bilateral economic cooperation and trade. NCCCI president Rajesh Kaji Shrestha and CCPIT vice-chairman Yu Ping inked the pact in Beijing on Wednesday in the presence of Finance Minister Surendra Pandey. Shrestha is a member of Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal’s entourage to China. Speaking on the occasion, the minister urged Chinese entrepreneurs to invest in Nepal. — HNS

Lucky draw winner

KATHMANDU: Gyanendra Subedi from Biratnagar has won Rs 10 lakh in the lucky draw of the Sipradi Dashain scheme, Chakkar Lagauney Offer. According to a press statement, the scheme included Pataya tour package for five couples, Pokhara tour for 12 couples and Rs 25,000 equivalent silver prize for 30 people. Sipradi Trading Pvt Ltd is the only authorized dealer of Tata Motors in Nepal. — HNS

New cave found

KIRTIPUR: A new cave has been found in the Manjushree cave at Kirtipur Municipality-14 of Kathmandu. It was discovered at the initiative of Jalbinayak Community Forest Consumer’s Group and is said to be the third longest cave in Asia and the second longest of the country. The consumer’s group said the cave is named Bagh Gupha (tiger cave). Group treasurer Sujindra Maharjan said the new cave was different from others as it had peculiar natural shapes and artistic ponds. Tourists have strated coming to take a look at the cave. — RSS
