NMB’s new branch

KATHMANDU: NMB Bank Ltd inaugurated its fifth branch office at Chipledhunga, Pokhara, on Sunday. The bank is planning to open six more branches, taking the total to 11 within the present fiscal year, according to a press statement. — HNS

NCC posts profits

KATHMANDU: Nepal Credit and Commerce (NCC) Bank registered a profit of Rs 276 million in the first six months of the present fiscal year. According to a press statement, during the period the bank posted an operating profit of Rs 197.6 million, an increment of 9.4 per cent compared to same period last year. It made an increment of 210 per cent in its net worth, that is Rs 884 million. Last year, it was Rs 285 million. — HNS

NCC-KCCI pact

KATHMANDU: Presidents of the Nepal Chambers of Commerce (NCC) and Karachi Chambers of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Sunday signed a bilateral agreement. NCC president Surendra Bir Malakar said the bilateral agreement between the two countries would assist in mutual economic development. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Morang Auto Works — sole distributor of Yamaha for Nepal — inaugurated its new Trade-In ‘D & D Auto Links Pvt Ltd, an Exchange Shoppe at Buddhabari Complex in Teku. The trade-in will facilitate bike exchange and easy finance facility. The plush showroom of D & D Auto links was crowded with youth looking for Yamaha’s products like R1, Dragstar, R15, FZ,Gladiator and Alba. Power potential

GAJURI: There is potential for

generation of 60 MW of hydroelectricity from the section of Trishuli River in between Kalleri of Dhading and Taruka of Nuwakot. Feasibility survey was carried out by Mahalaxmi Construction Pvt Ltd of Balaju in Kathmandu. The survey said the water could be channelled to Kalleri of Dhading by constructing a dam in Taruka to generate 60 MW of electricity. — RSS
