KATHMANDU: Production at Triveni Spinning Mills at Chatapipara, Bara has been halted due to the labour unrest. Issuing a press release, the company management has urged trade unions, different organisations and related government bodies to help them short out the problem. The labours at the mill have halted production work since last 15 days. — HNS

DCBL in Patan

KATHMANDU: Development Credit Bank Ltd (DCBL) inaugurated its fourth branch at Gabahal, Lalitpur on Sunday. The bank has recently received license as a merchant banker from Security Board of Nepal (Sebon). It has also introduced a new deposit scheme under which customers can get 50 per cent interest and after five years, they receive a total of 150 per cent amount, according to a release. The bank is going to conduct its eighth AGM on December 14 and will distribute 2:1 rights shares. — HNS

Fair Trade Fair 2008

KATHMANDU: Annual Fair Trade Fair Group Nepal is going to organise ‘Fair Trade Fair 2008’ on December 1-2. According to a press statement, Minister of Industry, Asta Laxmi Shakya, will inaugurate the event. The main objective is to raise awareness about the concept of fair trade fairs among the people and promote Nepalis handicrafts in the domestic market. Around 13 FTG member organisation and 13 non-member organisationorganizations will be exhibiting their products during the much-awaited event. — HNS

SDBL’s 5th branch

KATHMANDU: Siddhartha Development Bank Ltd (SDBL) inaugurated its fifth branch at Saaljhandi in Rupandehi. According to a press statement, the bank is planning to add three more branch offices within the end of Mangsir 2065. The bank has distributed its rights shares in the ratio of 1:5 and has total paid up capital of Rs 640 million. The bank is now a national level one. — HNS

SSCCL’s 6th AGM

KATHMANDU: Standard Savings and Credit Cooperative Ltd (SSCCL) conducted its 6th annual general meeting (AGM) on November 29. According to a press statement, it gained 245 per cent increase in its total share capital compared to the fiscal year 2006-07 and an increase of 307 per cent in total deposits. Its profit was 300 per cent more than last year. — HNS
