Bell’s test flight

KATHMANDU: Fishtail Air Pvt Ltd has test flown its newly-acquired Bell helicopter after assembling it under the supervision of Bell’s representative. “Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal has issued registration number 9N-AII for the chopper,” states a press release. After getting Certificate of Airworthiness, it will start commercial flights. It is the first of its kind of chopper in Nepal, it claims. — HNS

KATHMANDU: GTZ INCLUDE Lalitpur held an interaction on Thursday with the aim of pinpointing the impact of foreign migration in inclusive economic development and ask ‘Is Foreign Migration Good for Nepal?’ Speakers Dr Raghav Pant of IfDS, Sharu Joshi Shrestha of UNIFEM, Keshar Bahadur Baniya of Department and Labour and Employment Promotion and L P Agnihotri of SOS Manpower offered different perspectives on issues related to migration, society, gender equality and the remittance business and its effect on the economy. — HNS

Hydel project revived

DAMAULI: Reconstruction of the Rs 2.9 million 23-KW Likindikhola Micro-hydroelectricity Project, damaged by lightning two years ago, in Kotdurbar VDC of Tanahu is complete at a cost of Rs 790,000, said Jhul Bahadur Ale, chairman of the users’ committee. He said Rs 300,000 was sent from the PM’s Relief Fund, Rs 200,000 from the Ministry of Peace & Reconstruction, Rs 50,000 from the rural energy development branch and Rs 40,000 by the VDC. A sum of Rs 1,00,000 collected as revolving fund created by consumers and voluntary labour worth Rs 100,000 were also utilised. The project started generating electricity from Friday. — RSS

Indian inflation up

NEW DELHI: India’s annual rate of inflation rose to 11.63 per cent as the country continued to feel the impact of a hike in state-set fuel prices. The rate, for the week ended on June 21, was against 11.42 per cent for the previous week and remains at a more than 13-year high. The rise was marginally higher than expected by analysts, who had forecast the figure to be more or less flat. — AFP
