Revenue collection up

SAPTARI: Rajbiraj Custom Office has collected revenue worth around Rs 17 million. This amount is five times greater than it was expected. This revenue amount has been collected till date of the current fiscal year though the Custom Office that had targetted to collect revenue worth Rs 3 million annually. — RSS

Training concludes

KASKI: A training on basic savings mobilisation and loan organised for the disadvantaged groups of the society concluded here on Friday. The training was organised by Siddhartha Club to empower the marginalised groups. Altogether 22 persons from Sarangkot, Kustinachechaur, Dhikurpokhari and other VDCs of Kaski took part in the two-day long training. — RSS

Indian inflation rises

NEW DELHI: India’s inflation rate rose to 8.75 per cent for the week ended on May 31 from 8.24 per cent the week before. The sharp rise in the inflation rate was for the week before the central government announced significant hikes in transport and cooking fuel prices. Analysts now fear the inflation rate may touch double digits, though the government has said it is trying its best to hold the price line. — HNS
