Joshi Bangkok-bound

KATHMANDU: A 19-member delegation of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) led by its president Kush Kumar Joshi is taking part in a discussion meeting to share Thai experience in PPP projects and ‘one village one product (OVOP)’ programme in Bangkok from May 27 to 31. The team will also visit project site of OVOP and discuss with Thai private sector and government representatives, states a press release. REpresentatives from ministry of agriculture and cooperatives; industry, commerce and supplies; finance and local development ministries as well as FNCCI and district chambers are in the team. — HNS

New PATA team

KATHMANDU: The 33rd annual general meeting (AGM) of PATA Nepal Chapter appointed a new executive committee under the chairmanship of Pawan Tuladhar. Similarly, Prachanda Man Shrestha and Nageshwor Roy were appointed first and second vice-presidents, while Siddhartha Thapa and Bibek Basnet are the secretary and tresurer. Dinesh Hari Adhikari, Basanta Raj Mishra, Prabin Bahadur Pandey, Durgesh Raj Dali, Ashok Pokharel, Greesh Bindra and Joshuan are the executive members, states a press release. — HNS

WTO text dispute

GENEVA: The G20 group of developing economies said on Monday that the latest WTO text on agriculture trade was a ‘good basis to build on’ but stressed that industrialised countries still had to do more to cut farm subsidies. “The document is the product of a truly multilateral, transparent and bottom-up process,” Brazilian ambassador Clodoaldo Hugueney said. — AFP
