CAN InfoTech 2008

KATHMANDU: The 14th edition of CAN InfoTech 2008 is being held from January 29 to February 3 at BICC in Kathmandu. Organised by Computer Association of Nepal (CAN), the six-day long annual mega ICT gala will have 279 stalls with participation from national and international leading IT related companies. The event expects to draw more than 3,50,000 visitors and more than 500 participants at ICT Conference 2008, which is being held on the sideline of the main event from February 1 to 2. — HNS

CFL’s bonus shares

KATHMANDU: Central Finance Ltd (CFL) is issuing 12.5 per cent of bonus shares and distribute 0.66 per cent cash dividend. The company posted a net profit of Rs 14.9 million during the period, states a press release. CFL also allocated 2,40,000 unit rights shares. NIDC Capital Markets is sales and issue manager. Following the rights share issue, CFL’s paid-up capital will be Rs 72 million. — HNS

PDBL holds first AGM

KATHMANDU: Public Development Bank Ltd (PDBL), Birgunj held its first AGM in Birgunj. The meeting unanimously appointed five directors; Kunja Bihari Kayal, Shiv Shankerlal Rajbhandari, Babu Lal Agrawal, Gopal Man Shrestha and Suman Kumar Kayal from among the promoters. It posted an operating profit of Rs 3.5 million during the first seven months of its operations, states a press note. PDBL, the first development bank in Birgunj, has the authorised capital of Rs 200 million. — HNS
