New Citigroup CEO
WASHINGTON: Citigroup, the world’s largest financial services company, has appointed India’s Nagpur-born Vikram Pandit as the company’s new CEO and a member of its board of directors. The appointment of 50-year-old Pandit, who moved to New York from India at the age of 16 to attend Columbia University, was announced on Tuesday. He is currently chairman and CEO of the Institutional Clients Group, which comprises Citi Markets and Banking. — HNS
