Mero Mobile’s scheme

KATHMANDU: Mero Mobile, considered to be one of the most user-interactive and user-friendly service, has brought an offer ‘Sim Card Free with Rs 500 Recharge’. Under the scheme a current subscriber, who recharges Rs 500 equivalent or more amount, will get a sim card — for their family member or a friend — for free. A Mero Mobile subscriber can visit its customer care centre at Krishna Tower, New Baneshwor or Pulchowk. The offer is valid for one week only – from November 15 to 21. — HNS

SFL’s bonus shares

KATHMANDU: The board meeting of Standard Finance Ltd’s (SFL) has decided to give bonus shares and rights shares — that is subject to approval from its AGM — to the shareholders. SFL has decided to distribute bonus shares equivalent to 10 per cent of its paid up capital and 1:1 rights shares after bonus shares, states a press release. The finance company has posted a profit of Rs 2,18,12,830 in the current fiscal year. — HNS

HCI restarts operation

HETAUDA: Hetauda Cement Industry (HCI) resumed its production from Wednesday. It was closed for maintenance after the clinker machine went out of order two weeks ago, said the industry source. — RSS

SKorea, EU tariff row

SEOUL: South Korea has improved its tariff offers to try to make a breakthrough in free trade talks with the EU. Chief negotiator Kim Han-Soo said the sweetened offers would be sent to EU before both sides resume talks in Brussels from November 19. EU is urged to reciprocate by improving its own offers especially in the fie-ld of cars and electronic goods. — AFP
