NIBL to give bonus
KATHMANDU: Board of Directors (BoD) of Nepal Investment Bank Ltd (NIBL) has proposed 25 per cent bonus share and five per cent cash dividend from the profit of fiscal year 2006-07, and it also has proposed 20 per cent Rights Shares on bank’s paid up capital after issuance of bonus shares, subject to the approval of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) and annual general meeting. — HNS
NIC shifts branch
KATHMANDU: NIC Bank has shifted its New Road branch to Bishal Bazaar. Prasad Agrawal, chairman of NIC Bank formally inaugurated the branch on Monday. NIC Bank’s Bishal Bazaar branch is spacious having customer friendly ambience. The branch is equipped with state-of-the art technology enabling customers having accounts anywhere in NIC Bank’s network to avail of instantaneous service. The branch also provides evening counter service to its customers with 24-hour ATM access, states a press release. The last month commenced operation of its 11th branch at Damak, Jhapa. — HNS
Podrej receives ISO
KATHMANDU: Podrej Steel and Iron Industry (PSII) has become Nepal’s first company to get ISO 9001:2000 certification for design, manufacture and supply of bank security equipment such as bank strong room vault, fire proof safe and office equipment including ergonomic office chairs. The certification was awarded by DET Norske Veritas, the Netherlands under UK accreditation services, states a press release. — HNS
Nirdhan’s rights share
KATHMANDU: Securities Board Nepal (SEBON) has approved rights shares issuance of Nirdhan Utthan Bank Ltd. The bank will issue 3,95,197 units of rights shares with a face value of Rs 100 each to shareholders. NIDC Capital Markets has been appointed as sales and issue manager. — HNS
Assistance to farmers
MAKAWANPUR: Village development programme distributed maize, cauli flower, plants of fruits, and goats to farmers in assistance with UNDP to minimising poverty. Under the programme, assistance has been provided to farmers of many VDCs. — RSS
