Revenue collection up

JHAPA: The Mechi Customs Office Kakadbhitta has collected a revenue of Rs 1079.9 million in the last fiscal year 2063-64 BS. “The collection is 46 per cent higher than the previous year,” said Lawanya Dhakal, customs chief, adding, “even after it was hampered by regular strikes and chakkajams. The increase in revenue is due to increased import from Kakadbhitta customs after the closure of Birgunj and Biratnagar customs.” — RSS

NLSGMA’s new team

KATHMANDU: The seventh AGM of Nepal Leather Shoes and Goods Manufacturers’ Association (NLSGMA) concluded here on Friday electing a 13-member executive committee led by Ram Krishna Prasain as its president for the four-year term. Jhalak KC is the first vice-president, while Hom Nath Upadhaya, Krishna Prasad Phuyal, Nani Raj Ghimire and Kali Das Gotame are second vice-president, general secretary, treasurer and secretary. Bharat Shrestha, Dashrath Neupane, Nabraj Gautam, Ram Krishna Dangol, Ram Sharan Rijal, Sambhu Timilsina and Chabi Paudel are elected members. — HNS

Network business ban

ILAM: The District Administration Office, Ilam has banned all the networking business being run in the district. More than a dozen networking business organisations are currently in operation in Ilam. It has been enforced after networking business organisations started doing illegal activities, said Ram Prasad Ghimire, CDO of Ilam. — RSS
