Trisha wins a million

KATHMANDU: Trisha Rajbanshi has won one million rupees net cash under the ‘Millionaire Deposit Scheme’ of Himalayan Bank Ltd (HBL). Rajbanshi with a number of 1028672 was declared the winner through a lucky draw held today at the bank’s office in Thamel. HBL also announced 15 winners for consolation prizes worth Rs 5,000, one each from the bank’s various branch offices. Under the HBL Visa Debit Card scheme, Krishna Prasad Poudel has won an all-paid vacation trip to Bangkok and Singapore for a couple, states a bank press release issued here. — HNS

61.05b euro injected

FRANKFURT: The European Central Bank said on Friday it was injecting another 61.05 billion euros ($83.5 billion) into the eurozone banking market to address liquidity shortages amid fears over the US housing sector. The bank made the announcement of the amount in a statement to traders after earlier saying it would make a fresh injection of money in a “fine tuning” operation which “follows up on the operation conducted yesterday and aims to
