NCC’s condolence
KATHMANDU: Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) has issuing a press release expressed heartfelt condolence on the sad demise of former Indian prime minister Chandra Shekhar. NCC president Surendra Bir Malakar has also handed over a letter of condolence to the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu. “Late Chandra Shekhar was a good friend of Nepal. He was a great statesman and a visionary,” reads the letter. — HNS
SBL brings i-connect
KATHMANDU: Siddhartha Bank Ltd (SBL) has introduced Internet banking services. The new service, Siddhartha i-connect, will enable its customers to avail various banking services provided by the bank anywhere and anytime through internet, states a bank press release issued here on Tuesday. “Of the major features, the accountholders can check their account status, transfer fun to any other accounts within the bank and place order for bank drafts, cheque book and payment for goods,” adds the press release. — HNS
US, China ink accord
SEATAC: The US and China have signed an aviation agreement that will significantly increase passenger and cargo flights between the two countries. The agreement signed on Monday by the US transportation secretary Mary Peters and Chinese minister of civil aviation Yang Yuanyuan will more than double commercial passenger departures by 2012 and allow
unlimited cargo flights between the two countries. — AP
