CNI shows concern
KATHMANDU: Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) has expressed a serious concern over increasing threats and abduction of businessmen and entrepreneurs. Issuing a press release, CNI stated that such untoward acts would not only disturb business environment but also result in capital flight and ultimately affect the economy. CNI has also asked the government to take the issue seriously and take strong action against the culprits involved, thereby creating a conducive environment for investment. —HNS
ADBL floats loans
DHANGADHI: Agriculture Development Bank Ltd (ADBL), Dhangadhi has disbursed loans worth Rs 1,120 million in the seven months of the current fiscal year 2006-07. The 19 development banking offices and two commercial banking offices of ADBL disbursed these loans, which account for 75 per cent of the third quarter targets. It collected 79 per cent of the targeted principal or Rs 1,020 million with interest recovery of Rs 146.7 million during the period. The bank has floated a relief package in the view of the hardships to customers taking loans during the conflict. —RSS
