Dhunche bazaar shut
RASUWA: Locals have closed the Dhunche Bazaar and blocked transportation saying that the Maoists have been intensifying their excesses. They have been burning tyres on the road since morning and all vehicles, including buses, which are to go to Kathmandu from Dhunche and Syaphrubesi have been stranded in Dhunche. Talks between locals and the Maoists is undergoing to withdraw the general strike. — RSS
Tourists face trouble
KHAJURA: Tourists have been facing difficulties due to lack of communication facility at Bardiya National Park, a major tourist destination in the Mid-Western Development Region. The number of domestic and foreign tourists visiting the park has increased after the reinstatement of peace in the nation though the number had declined during the decade-long conflict. Foreign tourists have been facing a great problem to reach the hotel of Thakurdwara due to lack of telephone lines, said Chairman of Hotel Association of Thakurdwara Krishna Bhattarai. Only five hotels out of 12, have telephones lines which work at morning and evening only. — RSS
