Buddha adds aircraft

KATHMANDU: Buddha Air has added another ATR 72-500 aircraft to its fleet.

The prevalence of increasing air traffic, congested airport and unfavourable weather conditions have led to flight delays, which is an inconvenience for the airlines and the passengers.

With the operation of the ATR 72-500 aircraft, Buddha Air hopes to minimise flight delays, as per a media release. “After requests and feedback from passengers, Buddha Air will also increase flights to Bhadrapur, Biratnagar, Nepalgunj and Dhangadhi from March 14.” Besides the fares quoted by the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), Buddha Air has also been providing tickets at lower fare classes, according to the airline company.

In the near future, the number of lower fare class tickets provided will increase.

After the expansion efforts of Janakpur Airport are complete, Buddha Air will operate its ATR 72-500 aircraft there. The one-way fare to Janakpur will be Rs 2,000. With the addition of the ATR 72-500, Buddha Air now has nine aircraft in its fleet.
