Buddha ready to start Delhi flights

Nepalgunj, June 4

Buddha Air has initiated the further procedures to launch its air service from Nepalgunj to New Delhi, India.

The airline officials informed they are ready to commence the flights, but necessary infrastructure for the same needs to be completed still.

Calling a press meet here today, Managing Director of Buddha Air Birendra Bahadur Basnet said that the government had to set up an international terminal building, customs and immigration offices before the airline could commence the flights.

“Buddha Air is ready to start flights from Nepalgunj to Delhi immediately after basic infrastructure are ready,” he added. According to him, the flights could commence in seven to eight months if the infrastructure were ready on time.

Basnet informed Buddha Air planned to operate three flights every day using its ATR 72 from Nepalgunj to Delhi.

Parliament member Sanjaya Gautam of Bardiya Constituency 1 said Nepalgunj-Delhi flights would support promotion of tourism if the flights were operated on a regular basis.

Nepalgunj Sub-metropolis Mayor Dr Dhabal Samser Rana assured that the residents of Nepalgunj would extend necessary support to Buddha Air.

Managing Director of Nepalgunj Medical College Dr Suresh Kanodiya said that the Nepalgunj-Delhi flights would help the education and medical sectors to foster.
