Bullion price hits record, again

Gold price touched yet another high of Rs 18,690 per 10 gram, in the domestic market on Friday. The precious yellow metal in the domestic market closed Rs 560 higher to Rs 18,690 per 10 gram from Sunday’s Rs 18,130. On Monday, the price of hallmark gold remained at Rs 18,130 but on Tuesday it plunged to Rs 17,832.
However, the price continued to rise on Wednesday and Thursday — Rs 18,130 and Rs 18,345 before closing at Rs 18690, the new high, on Friday. “The market closed at Rs 18,690, a new record high,” according to Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association’s (NEGOSIDA). The instability in global crude prices and dollar despite the rate cut by the Fed, pushed the price of gold up. Similarly, in the international market also, the precious yellow metal recorded $910 per ounce from last Friday’s $871, states NEGOSIDA. The bullish trend is thought to be continuing, according to the market analysts.
