Business sector has welcomed the latest government decision of issuing 90-day multiple entry visa with validity period of five years for the foreigners coming to Nepal for export purpose or giving export orders.
Nepal Carpet Exporters’ Association (NCEA) in a press communiqué on Sunday, hailed the government’s latest move of easing and promoting export business. NCEA also suggested the government to provide such visas only in the recommendation of export related organisation in order to check misuse.
Likewise, Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce (FNCCI) in a press release on Saturday, also welcomed the new scheme saying it would be helpful in promoting exports, which has been declining in the recent years as well as attracting foreign investment. The umbrella organisation of private sector also asked the government to implement other suggestions related to export promotion.
Meanwhile, Handicraft Association of Nepal (HAN) also in a press communiqué hailed the scheme saying a positive move when the country’s economy is in doldrums. The scheme would be helpful to improve the declining trend of exportation trade and create more viable environment to foreign investors in the country.
The ministry of industry, commerce and supplies had announced the simplified visa procedure on Thursday citing the promotion of exportation.
