BPC’s golden jubilee

KATHMANDU: Butwal Power Company (BPC) celebrated its golden jubilee in the presence of Minister for Energy Janardan Sharma, on Saturday.

Padma Jyoti, chairperson of the Board of Directors of the company, informed that BPC is celebrating its golden jubilee by ground breaking and starting construction of two more new projects which will generate 67.6 megawatts of power by 2020.

BPC was initially established as a private limited company and was later converted into a public limited company. It has been providing electricity services to more than 50,000 households in Syangja, Palpa, Pyuthan and Arghakhanchi districts of western Nepal through its own distribution system.

Currently, BPC is involved in generation and distribution of electricity, consulting engineering service, sediment analysis of the river and hydraulic model study.
